Scrumptious Basic White Cake.


As the baker in my family of five I get frequent requests to satisfy family member's cravings, this one was for my mom as she desired a moist white cake, sources say she was pretty happy when I brought these little morsels to her. We enjoyed them with milk but a simple butter cream icing would also compliment them nicely.

Scrumptious Basic White Cake:

Ingredients:
1 cup white or raw sugar
1/2 cup butter 
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 cup milk or half 'n half

Recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 and grease a 9 X 9 pan or line a cupcake tray with paper liners.
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and add vanilla. Add flour and baking powder and mix well. Add milk or half 'n half (I strongly recommend the half 'n half option!) and stir until batter is smooth. Pour into pan or cupcake tray.
  3. Bake 30-40 minutes for cake, 20-25 for cupcakes. Cake is done when it springs back to the touch.
